Description
Performs corrective and preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, and instrumentation as requested through work orders; performs other duties as assigned.
Examples of Duties
Performs corrective and preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, and instrumentation as requested through work orders;Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical and electrical instrumentation, equipment and systems; Disassembles, rebuilds and reassembles motors, valves, pumps, gearboxes, etc., to rehabilitate equipment; evaluates the operation of equipment after rebuilding; Performs electrical work including but not limited to connecting and disconnecting wires and performs all corrective and preventive maintenance on building electrical supply circuits; Investigates and corrects pump control and other problems;Submits all necessary documentation for maintenance and administrative functions; Performs other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
High school diploma or G.E.D.;Three years or more experience working on mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems; Class 2 Wastewater Collection certificate; Or equivalent technical training, education, and/or experience.

- Work demands occasional strenuous effort. For example, handling moderately heavy tools,equipment, or materials of 30 to 60 pounds or more. Work may involve risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, or machines. Employees may be required to use protective gear such as boots, gloves, or goggles; may require working in adverse weather conditions.
