Position Summary

Purpose: Provide efficient and effect services to parents with child support related questions or concerns over the phone. Assist Deputy Prosecuting Attorneys and staff in the establishment, modification and enforcement of child support orders by providing the public with information in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner over the phone.

Work Environment: Duties conducted primarily in the office. Work hours primarily Monday through Friday from 7:55 a.m. until 4:40 p.m. with a 45 minute lunch hour for lunch from 12:15-1:00pm daily.

Position Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Tasks:

1. Answer multi – line telephone, assist parents by phone in a manner consistent with the office policies as well as Local, State and Federal Laws and regulations.

A. Schedule appointments

B. Enter and update information in the computer system.

C. Trigger Income Withholding notices and mail general correspondence when necessary.

D. Provide general status updates to callers.

E. Make notes in the computer system.

F. Address caller's questions and concerns as thoroughly as possible without having the hard copy file.

G. Direct phone calls to other staff when necessary

H. Must be able to meet daily, weekly and monthly goals

I. Must be courteous with callers at all times

2. Contribute to the effective and efficient daily operations of the Child Support Division through increased knowledge of paternity and child support issues.

A. Participate in in-service training events.

B. Abide by all policies and procedures set forth in the Marion County Employee Handbook

C. Maintain confidentiality of all cases.

D. Must be compliant with all Marion County Prosecutor and Child Support Division policies, procedures and timelines.

E. Ensure that all work is completed in compliance of all applicable local, state, federal and IRS regulations.

F. Be punctual and adhere to attendance policies.

G. Maintain a highly professional attitude and meet the section deadlines.

3. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills Required: High school diploma or equivalent required. Individual must be able to work daily with public, deputy prosecutors, administrative staff, and all office employees in a professional and courteous manner. Excellent attendance record required. Prior phone experience is preferred. Child support experience preferred but not required. Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, Odyssey, and other public data access websites is preferred; must have adequate typing skills. Applicant must be a Marion County Resident at time of hire or willing to relocate to Marion County after being hired.
