Position Purpose

For evaluation purposes, acceptable qualifying experience for all positions must have been in a paid capacity unless noted otherwise in the minimum qualifications for the posted position.

 

Additionally, 30+ hours per week will be counted as full-time employment and will receive full credit for the amount of time employed.  A minimum of 15 through 29 work hours per week will be counted as part-time employment and will receive half credit for the amount of time employed.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION: 

  • High school diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE:
One (1) year of experience in one (1) or more of the following: 
  • Customer Service experience that must involve complaint resolution
  • General Mechanical
  • General Construction
  • General Maintenance
  • Meter reading experience which must have involved some public contact.
EQUIVALENCY(IES):
  • A Class "D" Water or Wastewater License from the TCEQ will meet the education and experience requirements
LICENSE(S) and/or CERTIFICATION(S):
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Must obtain Class D Water License from Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) within probationary period.
  • May be required to obtain a Confined Space Entry certification during probationary period.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Availability to work various shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays. 
EXAM DESCRIPTION:  Exam covers knowledge of general mechanical procedures, safety precautions, MAPSCO reading, water line service and human relations principles.

TIME LIMIT:  Two (2) hours.
