Nature of Work
Coconino County Education Service Agency (CCESA) is seeking qualified service providers to be temporary on-call employees with the CCESA to provide county schools with physical therapy services.
Individual will function as a school physical therapist; will work with students with the development and practice of motor control, safety and mobility, sensory processing, and other underlying performance components that significantly impact the student's educational experiences.
Note: Services are to be provided within the geographical area of Coconino County.Typical Duties
Individual will have skills or experience in:
- Screening, assessment, program planning, intervention, communication, consultation, education documentation, and assisting with equipment needs
- Reviewing individual student's IEP and identify their individual physical therapy goals to be addressed during ESY
- Planning therapy lessons and activities that address the goals identified for the various students
- Implementing these lessons or activities to support the students individual IEPs
- Setting up schedule of physical therapy services for those students requiring these services and notifying respective teachers of these times
- Working with and directing any paraprofessional who is assigned to work with any students receiving physical therapy services to help assist in achieving the specific goals as noted on the students IEP
- Reporting the necessary Medicaid documentation for any Medicaid services that are identified on the student's IEP that are reimbursed by the Medicaid system
- Providing a progress report (standard from provided) at the end of the ESY Program that will be sent home to the parent/guardian along with a copy provided for the student's file both at the school site and the District Office
- Participating in conferences with school staff members and parents relative to test findings and their interpretation
- Attend MET/IEP conferences and making appropriate recommendations
- Complying with all IDEA regulations and Arizona Revised statutes ยงยง 5-765 - 767-13
- Assisting teachers and administrators in maintaining compliance with state and federal mandates relative to special education
Minimum Qualifications
License from the Arizona State Board of Physical Therapy; valid Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Must obtain an Arizona's Driver's license by date of hire and maintain it throughout employment. Final Job offer is contingent upon a satisfactory 5-year Arizona motor-vehicle report.
This position is safety sensitive.
Note: Individuals in exempt classifications as part time employees may be classified as non-exempt per FLSA law regarding minimum weekly salary requirements.
