Nature of Work
Coconino County Education Service Agency (CCESA) is seeking qualified service providers to be temporary on-call employees with the CCESA to provide county schools with speech language pathology therapy services.
The individual will function as a school speech therapist in the identification, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of children/students ages three through twenty-two year of age exhibiting communication disorders.
Note: Services are to be provided within the geographical area of Coconino County.Typical Duties
Individual will have the skills to:
- Function as a speech therapist to facilitate assessments of students with significant educational relevant communication disorders through interview and initial evaluation to determine the presence and severity of a communication disorder.
- Attend all meetings involving a particular student which may include: review of existing data meeting, eligibility determination meeting, dismissal from program, move-ins, change of placement, IEP, addendum, etc.). Provide appropriate and required information at each meeting to include reason for referral, evaluation results, diagnosis and recommendation, present level of educational performance, speech/language goals, and all documentation required by local, state, and federal agencies. Conduct re-evaluations every three years to determine if continued services or dismissal are appropriate.
- Provide direct or indirect services by method of one-on-one, small group, or inclusion within the classroom by integrating speech/language goals with curriculum based objectives and ethically and legally implement the IEP. Document therapy sessions to accurately determine progress/regression with current goals and/or consult with other staff, if indirect therapy, to assure appropriate progress and accurate goals.
- Comply with all I.D.E,A, regulations and Arizona Revised Statutes §15-765 to §15-767; assist teachers and administrators in maintaining compliance with State and Federal mandates relative to special education. Individual will submit a quarterly and final report to the CCESA Director indicating major activities and the number of students served.
Essential functions include: driving, sitting, working with and around others, working with interruptions, repetitive motion (hand/wrist, elbow/shoulder), vision acuity (near/far) for computer work, hearing and speech for ordinary conversation, touch/finger dexterity for typing and data entry.Minimum Qualifications
Individual must hold a license from the Department of Health Services; a Speech Language Pathologists certificate from the Department of Education which requires a master's degree in speech pathology or communication disorders; a minimum of 250 clinical clock hours supervised by a university or a speech language pathologist with a CCC.
Must obtain an Arizona's Driver's license by date of hire and maintain it throughout employment. Final Job offer is contingent upon a satisfactory 5-year Arizona motor-vehicle report.

Note: Individuals in exempt classifications as part time employees may be classified as non-exempt per FLSA law regarding minimum weekly salary requirements.
