Position Purpose

For evaluation purposes, acceptable qualifying experience for all positions must have been in a paid capacity unless noted otherwise in the minimum qualifications for the posted position.

Additionally, 30+ hours per week will be counted as full-time employment and will receive full credit for the amount of time employed.  A minimum of 15 through 29 work hours per week will be counted as part-time employment and will receive half credit for the amount of time employed.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED.
 EXPERIENCE:
  • Two (2) years law/code enforcement and/or security/protective service experience where primary responsibilities include performing enforcement and/or investigative support.
OR
  • Thirty (30) completed college semester credit hours plus one (1) year of the stated experience will meet the education and experience requirements.
OR
  • Sixty (60) completed college semester credit hours (or more) will meet the education and experience requirements.
OR
  • A minimum of thirty-six (36) months active service in the Armed Forces of the United States of America with an Honorable Discharge will meet the education and experience requirements.
 LICENSE(S) and/or CERTIFICATION(S):
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.
  • Must obtain Level II & III Security Commission Certifications issued by the Private Security Bureau of the Texas Department of Public Safety within probationary period.
 OTHER REQUIREMENT(S):
  • Must pass intensive background investigation, physical, eye exam, polygraph, psychological exams, as well as drug and alcohol testing.
  • No FELONY convictions.
  • No class A MISDEMEANOR convictions within the last five (5) years.
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITY(IES):
  • Availability to work varying shifts including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.
  • Ability to walk extensively, bend, carry and lift in excess of fifty (50) pounds.
  • Subject to inclement weather.
 EXAM DESCRIPTION:
  • Exam covers public relations, complaint handling/resolutions and reading comprehension of legal materials.
  • Time Limit: Two (2) hours.
  • PICTURE I.D. REQUIRED
