Recreation Leader: Community Events/Senior & Family Services (Part-Time)

The Recreation Leader works directly with other Recreation staff members to provide assistance in the administration of programs, activities, facilities. This is a part-time, at-will, non-benefitted position. Salary starts at $11.00 per hour.

The duties for this part-time position will include, but are not limited to, the following: participating in staff trainings and meetings, promoting the program, recruiting participants, keeping accurate records, and planning, organizing, leading, and supervising daily facility activities.

SCHEDULE:
The Senior Center is open 7 days per week.
Selected candidate(s) will work approximately 18 hours per week.

Qualifications include: Effective leadership skills with the public and City Facility operations; strong decision making skills; ability to exercise appropriate judgment; ability to teach; ability to lead by example; creativity. Some college credit in related field of study is preferred.

Applicants must: 
*Be at least 18 years old to apply
*Possess a valid California Driver's License
*Possess a minimum of two years' experience working in Recreation, Senior Services, or a related field
Note: Qualified applicants should have reliable transportation.

SELECTION PROCESS:
The selection process may include but is not limited to: application review and evaluation, written examination, performance test and interview. All employment offers made by the City are contingent upon establishing proof of a prospective candidate's legal authorization to work in the United States and successfully passing all components of the pre-employment process, such as: reference check, background investigation, fingerprint criminal history check, post-offer drug test, post-offer psychological and post-offer medical examination, the cost of which will be borne by the City.
