Classification Clerk - MCSO

Obtain data to determine the best way an inmate should be housed, in the least restrictive manner possible, while maintaining safety of inmates, Deputies, facility and the public.

Navigates within various internal computer applications.

Responsible for identifying potential risk factors for housing inmates by interviewing inmates, reviewing incident/arrest reports, criminal histories, and court documents.

Communicates with internal medical and mental health teams, court officials, and other law enforcement agencies.

Compiles a roster of inmates eligible for each of the MCSO's facilities, including identifying eligibility of inmates for special assignments.

Must be 18 years of age

Possess a high school diploma or HSE (former GED) certification

Strong personal computer and typing skills are desirable

Comfortable with limited interaction of arrestees and inmates

Limited independent judgement is required.
