3811 Call Taker - MCSO

Position is responsible for receiving complaints and information over the telephone from citizens, law enforcement and various agencies calling the Marion County Sheriff's 911 Center Non-Emergency line. Enters information into the computer for law enforcement response as required.

Answers non-emergency telephone calls from a computer software application.

Determines needs of caller; responds to questions and advises caller of actions to be taken within the guidelines of agency SOP's.

Enters appropriate information into CAD.

Relays information received as required to various law enforcement personnel, Communications Center supervisors and area agencies.

High School Diploma or High School Equivalent (HSE) required. Must be 18 years of age. Must successfully pass a complete background check, including but not limited to criminal history check. Must be a US Citizen. Must successfully complete required training.

Limited judgment is required.
