Description
- The M-NCPPC Park Ranger Office in Prince George's County is seeking a Non-native Invasive Plant Control Program Assistant. This position will assist the non-native plant control coordinator with non-native invasive plant management efforts and help lead 'Weed Warrior' volunteer events on M-NCPPC property throughout Prince George's County.This position will also work with career Park Ranger and Natural Historical Resources Division staff, and a variety of community groups. The employee will assist in volunteer and staff projects. The employee will apply and mix herbicides as part of the management program, as well as mechanical methods of control. The employee will frequently work independently, be required to wear an issued dress uniform, and operate vehicles and other equipment as needed.The work schedule for this position will vary and include weekdays, weekends, some evenings and possible holidays. Applicants should have good driving record, good references, and positive work habits that include being reliable, honest, and hardworking.The position will entail working outdoors in the woods in varying weather conditions. Weekly work schedule will be 20 +/- hours depending on work assignments.
Hourly rate: $11.50/hr-$14.37/hr

- Specialized training and experience is necessary for those jobs requiring specialized equipment operation in grounds and facility maintenance, specialized program leadership and supervision, technical clerical activities, etc.NOTE: College degree is desirable for those positions involved in program leadership, coordination, and supervision in a program activity situation.
