Additionally, 30+ hours per week will be counted as full-time employment and will receive full credit for the amount of time employed. A minimum of 15 through 29 work hours per week will be counted as part-time employment and will receive half credit for the amount of time employed.

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering from program accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering Technology (EAC/ABET) OR
- Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering technology from a program accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (TAC/ABET) OR
- Bachelor's or graduate degree in mathematical, physical, or engineering science approved by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers (TBPE) (written approval from the TBPE must accompany application.)
EQUIVALENCY(IES):
- Current Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate issued within the United States will qualify.
- Current Professional Engineer (PE) license issued within the United States will qualify.
- An individual who has passed the eight (8) hour Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Examination administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) will qualify. (A copy of official exam results must accompany application.)
PREFERENCE(S):
Dallas Water Utilities: Engineer-in-training certification is a plus.
Transportation Department: Experience in CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) is a plus. A degree in Civil Engineering and knowledge of transportation engineering is highly preferred.
