Position Information

Performs difficult professional engineering work in evaluating the design, construction, maintenance and operation for civil engineering geotechnical projects; coordinates and reviews the preparation of designs, plans, specifications, estimates and reports; and performs other related duties as required.

**Salary Negotiable: $5,880 - $7,778 per month (SR-26), includes differential, pending approval and subject to funding availability.  Salary range is only for position number BD262**

Minimum Qualification Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in civil engineering.

A reproduced copy of your diploma and/or transcript which shows the embossed seal must be submitted in order to be given credit. Copies will not be returned. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
One year of registered professional Civil Engineering experience in soil mechanics and foundations involving the investigation of soil and rock below the ground to determine its properties for the design of foundations for bridge and highway structures, design of roadway pavement, and the assessment and mitigation of hazards from earth movement and rock fall.

License Requirement: Current State of Hawaii registration as a professional engineer in Civil Engineering. You must submit a copy of your professional license within 7 days of filing this application. Mail or drop off: Department of Human Resources, 650 South King Street, 10th Floor, Honolulu, HI 96813.

1. Applicants with an out-of-state license in Civil Engineering must obtain the Hawaii license prior to appointment.

2. Valid Hawaii State driver's license (Type 3) prior to appointment.
