OSC’s mission is to serve as the public’s fiscal guardian by promoting accountability and protecting the financial integrity of the State.

THIS POSTING IS FOR STATE GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES ONLY

This position is staffed in the BEST Shared Services, Support Services section to support the comprehensive North Carolina Accounting System (NCAS). The Support Services section supports and works with the Statewide Accounting Division (SAD), CJLEADS Division and the Technical Applications and Information Access divisions. This section also provides technical support and set up for OSC users. All NCID, LAN/Windows, Email, Calendar and active directory accounts are managed by this team.  This position supervises four Business Systems Support Specialists. This position will monitor call logging and reporting for each staff member using CMS supervisor on a daily basis. Position is responsible for creating monthly calendars for duty rotation and monitoring and assisting with training of team members for cross-training purposes. This position will review and approve all leave requests and approve time in the BEACON system. This position will also conduct performance reviews for the specialists. This position will attend meetings pertaining to the group and be responsible for task assignments to the team based on information gathered from other teams requiring assistance from the support services team. This position will serve as administrator for the HEAT call logging module used for tracking work and escalating issues to other teams for assistance. This position will work with subject matter experts to update and maintain internal and external documentation for the System Information Guide (SIG) and System Administration Guide (SAG). This position will prepare documentation to be publish-ready for the web sites. This position will also perform NCAS support functions for security, items, vendors, month-end certifications and conducting training classes pertaining to security and vendors as well as work with the Statewide Electronic Commerce Program.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies checking for longer labels in job detail

Applicants must be able to plan, organize, execute and review the work of the support specialists. Knowledge of call tracking and telephony systems preferred as well as knowledge of NCAS and SAP software. Must be able to prepare clean and concise documentation, reports, flowcharts, narratives and other materials in connection with accounting system work, and have good oral and written communication skills along with customer service skills. Management prefers candidates with supervisory experience.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements checking for longer labels in job detail page

Graduation from a four-year college or university and three years experience in personnel, budgeting, research, or administrative management preferably involving participation in the planning and management of a business or governmental program; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
