DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, performs full-performance level work in the conversion of hard copy letters, forms, and other paper documents into a electronic imaging format. Works with other staff members within the agency and/or with other state, federal or local government agencies, public and private entities to clarify contents of a document type for processing. Performs operations using computer software and interfacing through Local and Wide Area Networks in a multi-platform environment. Performs related work as required. 

Hiring Process Imaging Operator 1 requires a written (W) examination and a typing test. The same written examination is used for: Office Assistant 1, 2, 3 (typing), Secretary 1 & 2, Administrative Secretary. While applicants must apply for each title separately prior to testing, they only need to take the test once to be scored for any of these titles. If you have taken and received a passing score within the past 6 months for one of the titles above and wish to be scored for Imaging Operator 1, without re-testing, you must apply online and request (by letter) to be scored for Imaging Operator 1. We no longer administer typing tests at our test centers. Applicants will have 15 days after taking the written test to complete a special on-line typing test. Applicants who have completed the written test will receive a typing test instruction sheet from the test administrator. This instruction sheet contains complete instructions on the accessing special typing test website. This sheet will indicate a special access code . You must test within 15 days to avoid expiration of the access code. The typing test may be taken on any available internet connected computer (home, Workforce WV office, library, etc.)

DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU CAN TEST WITHIN 90 DAYS OR BY THE FINAL FILING DATE (ABOVE), WHICHEVER IS LESS. Your application will remain active for 1 year or until the job is filled.

Applicants using a paper application must present a completed application form at the test site. Positive identification is required. There is a 90 day re-test waiting period. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Training:
Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent.

Experience:
One year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience using PC based software such as word processing, database or spreadsheet or in electronic document management imaging or scanning documents.
Substitution:
Three semester hours of computer science from a regionally accredited college or university or completion of a formal training program in data processing or related field from a business or vocational school may substitute for the experience.
