Job Description...

The Department of Human Services Disability Determination Services is looking for an Access Database Intern for the Fall 2013 semester.  Some of the responsibilities and projects will include the following.

  • Develop and design Access database for succession planning.
  • Organize layout Access database and data entry.
  • Research, analyze and make recommendations regarding updating web site software.
  • Remove and purge out dated information.
  • Consolidate information where possible.
  • Document the care and maintenance of the Access database program.

Required Education and Experience

Applicants must be actively enrolled in a college or university with a  Information Technology or related major with some Access database classes.  The preferred skills and qualifications will include the following.

  • Knowledge of Access database software with the ability to run queries, develop forms and generate reports along with strong data entry skills.
  • Ability to communicate well with a variety of governmental staff and IT support staff.
  • Ability to train on web site support.
  • Ability to organize large amounts of web content
  • Flexibility to deal with the limitation on a highly secure Social Security Administration network.
  • Ability to identify greatest needs for improvement for the current web site to carry out an approved plan.
