MEDICAL/DENTAL/VISION INSURANCE: A choice of different medical, dental and visions plan are available to elect through the RSA Benefit Trust. The County provides a monthly Flexible Benefit Credit contribution to the RSA Benefit Trust on behalf of each RSA member as governed by the applicable RSA Memorandum of Understanding towards the cost of these plans.

SAFETY RETIREMENT: County of Riverside has three retirement Tiers through the California Public Employee's Retirement System (CalPERS).

• Tier I - Applicable to employees hired prior to 08/23/2012. Formula is 3% @ 50. Employee contribution is 9%.
• Tier II - Applicable to employees hired on or after 08/23/2012 through 12/31/2012. Formula is 2% @ 50. Employee contribution is 9%.
• Tier III - Applicable to new CalPERS membership hired on or after 01/01/2013 as a result of Public Employees' Pension Reform Act of 2013 (PEPRA). Formula is 2.7% @ 57. Employee contribution is 10.75%.  (The employee contribution will increase to 11.25% as of July 1, 2018.)

DEFERRED COMPENSATION: Voluntary employee contribution with a choice between two 457 deferred compensation plan options (Nationwide or VALIC). Employees may contribute bi-weekly deduction up to the annual maximum on a pre-tax basis as governed under IRS regulations.

*VACATION ACCRUAL (Bi-Weekly Accrual): 0 through 3 years = 80 Hours (10 Days)
4 through 9 years = 120 Hours (15 Days)
10 or more years = 160 Hours (20 Days)

*Maximum Vacation leave accumulation is 700 hours.

SICK LEAVE: Four (4) hours Sick leave accrual per pay period with unlimited accrual.

HOLIDAYS: Normally 12 paid holidays per year. The actual dates of County holidays are set by governing MOU language.

BEREAVEMENT LEAVE: May use accrued Sick leave, not to exceed five (5) working days

DISABILITY: Long-term Disability benefit is offered to RSA members through the Riverside Sheriff's Association. Benefits may be payable provided the member meets the eligibility requirements.

POST RETIREMENT MEDICAL CONTRIBUTION: A monthly contribution is made by the County towards retiree health insurance offered through the County as governed by the applicable RSA Memorandum of Understanding.
