Approximately 25 hours per week

General customer service and routine clerical and maintenance work as needed for the efficient operation of a clubhouse or concessions operation at department facilities. Reports to Operations Manager or Supervisor at assigned facility.

Examples of Duties

Customer Service: Provides a high level of customer service in person and by phone to patrons. Answers routine questions. Takes reservations; accepts and prepares orders for products and services; provides player assistance as needed or as directed.

Maintenance: Assists with general maintenance of grounds and equipment. Depending on assigned facility, this may include dragging, sweeping, watering and rolling courts, and general custodial duties such as trash collection, vacuuming and/or sweeping floors, cleaning counters and tables.

Clerical: Prepares required reports; balances cash drawer; logs statistical data; issues membership cards; opens and closes up per established procedures; orders supplies as directed.

Typical Qualifications

High School graduate or GED preferred. Six months previous experience in customer service required. Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written instructions. Basic math skills required. Knowledge of tennis/golf and/or popular sports helpful.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATES

Valid Florida Operators Driver's License preferred.

Food Handler Certification required for those assigned to concession operations. This certification can be obtained after employment.

Supplemental Information

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and the general public. Ability to communicate clearly and politely. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals by phone and in person. Ability to understand and carry out successfully oral and written work assignments. Must be able to collect monies and give proper change. Ability to apply basic math skills. Ability to work with little supervision. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations dealing with the public.
