NATURE OF WORK
Under close supervision, performs professional legal work in the prosecution or defense of civil or criminal cases; provides legal research, advice and counsel; frequently supports senior level attorneys; this is a non-covered position; incumbents in this position serve at the pleasure of their respective appointing attorney; the employment relationship of incumbents in this position is "at will", and as such, the employee may be terminated at any time, for any reason, with or without cause.

Experience and Education

Juris Doctorate (JD) degree; must be licensed by the bar to practice law in the State of Arizona, remain active with all Arizona bar annual requirements, and maintain a clear criminal record; requires successful completion of a background check; Special Requirements: must submit a Certificate in Good Standing issued by the Disciplinary Clerk of the Supreme Court of Arizona.

This position is advertised from the minimum to the mid-point annual salary. Salary will be determined based on education and experience at the time of offer.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of: County and Department policies and procedures; State of Arizona civil and criminal statutes, rules, administrative orders, policies and procedures, applicable Federal rules and regulations; administrative and trial court processes, protocols and strategies; legal research methods, techniques, sources, databases and other research tools; legal case management procedures, ethics and techniques; the principles and protocols for the evidentiary gathering of information, documents, financial records and other data that may be used in court.

Skill in: Reviewing and assessing legal issues and documents; effectively assessing, interpreting and applying criminal laws to information, evidence and other data compiled; prosecuting cases, developing legal strategy, and presenting legal arguments; verbal and written communication, and exercising judgment and discretion in decision making; establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with attorneys, law enforcement agencies and other participants in the criminal justice process; operating a personal computer, standard office software and specialized legal software programs.

The YCEBT is a self-funded medical plan administered by BlueCross BlueShield of Arizona (BCBSAZ).  The employee is able to select from two (2) medical plan options with four (4) tiers that will best suit the employee's needs, dependents or families.

Plan Option 1: Preferred Provider Option (PPO) or PPO with $20.00 Wellness Incentive.
Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $20 monthly premium reduction.

Plan Option 2: High Deductible High Plan - Health Savings Account (HDHP-HSA) or HDHP-HSA with Wellness Incentive.
HDHP-HSA Wellness Incentive for Employee Only option receives a $240.00 annual contribution to a Limited Purpose FSA card.

Southwest Service Administrator (SSA) Mexico PPO Health Plan: SSA is available to employees who are enrolled in YCEBT Medical PPO Plan. The SSA Plan pays 100% of hospital, medical, laboratory and prescription drug benefits, to a maximum of $3,500 per person per calendar year ($7,000 for two or more family members).
