Job Responsibilities

Performs skilled maintenance, repair, adjustment and minor construction work in the trades to ensure that facilities are properly maintained and meet the agency's standards.  Duties may fall into a variety of trades, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, fire and life safety and keys/security systems.  Assists experience trades workers in the duties related to the operation, maintenance and repair of plumbing systems, electrical systems and general carpentry.  Performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs to vehicles and equipment.  Operate tools and welding equipment to build, fabricate and repair parts for equipment.
 

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent and trade experience that is directly related to the area of employment.

This position has been re-posted.  Previous applicants need not re-apply as all qualified applications will be considered.  Must possess a valid South Carolina Driver's license.  Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and stand for long periods of time.  Must be able to climb and work from ladders, stairs and scaffolding.  Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.  Must be able to work in confined spaces; hot, hazardous and noisy locations; and in adverse weather conditions.  Position requires participation in the on-call program and to work after hours, as on call technician.  A resume will not be accepted in lieu of an online state application.  Only those applicants chosen for interview will be notified of job filled status.
