Basic Function

Serves as support to athletics.

Nature & Scope

Based on the assignment, this position reports to the Athletics Supervisor or their designated Recreation Coordinator.  Duties of this job will include one or more of the following but are not limited to:
 
1.Attends to the daily operation of facilities and assists with various recreation programs, leagues and special events.
2.Assists with program registrations, including periods of intensive computer processing with custom registration system.
3.Assists with program and event set up, tear down and implementation including working both inside and outside in various locations and conditions.
4.Provides excellent customer service by responding to customers' questions and needs.
5.Performs general maintenance and housekeeping duties in Parks and Recreation Department and/or Grapevine/Colleyville Independent School District facilities.
6.Ensures the safety of all spectators and participants in programs and facilities.
7.Completes various reports and submits them to the appropriate supervisor.

Required Skills

Minimum age 16. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to count money and make change correctly. Ability to use a calculator and do basic math functions. Must have good oral communication skills and able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Must have physical ability to accomplish job tasks and able to work outdoors as required. Incumbents over the age of 18 must pass a criminal background check.
 
Incumbents assigned to athletics may be required to have some knowledge of general sport rules (basketball, softball, volleyball, football), must be able to obtain a Food Handlers certification, general knowledge of concession and food preparation, and/or be able to operate a cash register, scoreboard or computer.
 

 

Hired to temporarily supplement the work force or to assist in the completion of projects. May work short assignments year round with no set schedule. All legally mandated benefits will be extended; however, casual employees are not eligible for City sponsored benefit programs.
