Job Description

Why does the job exist?
This position will support the Editorial and Art team for the NM Magazine Program of the Tourism Department. This position collaborates with the Executive Editor in publishing original and re-purposed magazine content on the web and in social media, maintaining continuity, implementing design changes, and increasing on-line presence. This position utilizes creative approaches to content in order to further the NM Magazine brand and financial viability. This position monitors web traffic and resolves issues; coordinates with Executive Editor to ensure that the website provides content and functionality that meets the needs of an Enterprise Fund.; and ensures that the Department milestones and goals are met while adhering to approved budgets.

How does it get done?
The Digital Coordinator brainstorms and collaborates with staff to incorporate both editorial and marketing into the publication's digital products. This position will maintain and update website, upload print issue content into website, ensures that website and all digital products meet quality assurance guidelines, and troubleshoots issues or problems. Incumbent will plan and execute promotional campaigns for publication's online presence and social media that promotes the NM Magazine brand. Incumbent will design, source images and content, and distribute the e-newsletter.  The Coordinator conducts photo research for print and digital; prepares and monitors freelance agreements, print and digital assignments, maintains on-line store front for calendar and other product sales, to include the fulfillment of direct purchases and maintains monthly inventory and reporting.  Position will create social media posts and monitor engagement. Incumbent will post digital ads and maintain workflow of the website, e-newsletter, and social media and will work directly with clients when needed on advertising creation.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal Digital Coordinator has maintained an html website for at least two (2) years, has experience gathering information from multiple sources to create content on a website and/or social media, has created a quality, regular electronic newsletter that has a subscriber list of more than 1,000 is experienced at monitoring assignments from start to finish (origin to payment), and can organize complicated administrative tasks that require follow-up.

Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date.

Minimum Qualifications

Associates Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or Accounting and two (2) years of directly related job experience in office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management and/or contract management. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer, copier, printer, and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
