Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) seeks an experienced behavioral health nurse with supervisory experience to fill multiple vacancies in the hospital's Behavioral Health Unit.  This excellent NEW opportunity was created as part of ARMC's new nursing administration career ladder that offers improved salary and benefits options.
 

 
ARMC's Behavioral Health Center provides adult inpatient and triage behavioral health treatment services for assessment and evaluation of acute behavioral health emergencies. The Center is comprised of four units with 90 licensed beds. Individuals who have experienced crises, or are suffering from chronic disorders such as severe depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and other mental health challenges, are treated in the Behavioral Health Center.
 
The new Unit Managers for ARMC Behavioral Health Services manage a large behavioral health nursing unit, with responsibility for staff supervision, overseeing the day-to-day operations, and assuming 24 hour responsibility for the unit.  The areas of immediate vacancy include the Behavioral Health Triage Unit and an Inpatient Psychiatric Unit.

 ARROWHEAD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER
ARMC, which is owned and operated by the County of San Bernardino, is a state-of-the-art 456 bed university-affiliated, teaching medical center featuring the newest technology in the field of patient care. ARMC, is host to a 24-hour Emergency Department providing more than 90,000 annual visits, a Level II Trauma Center verified by the American College of Surgeons, a Regional Burn Center, Behavioral Health Services, Outpatient Specialty Clinics and four Primary Care Family Health Centers (FHC).  The FHCs offer comprehensive primary care medical services to individuals and families of all age groups. The FHCs are staffed with experienced attending physicians and resident physicians from the Medical Center. ARMC is a Primary Stroke Center and has a Baby Friendly designation from Baby-Friendly USA with over 2800 births per year. The Neonatal Intensive Care is a 30 bed Community California Children's Services certified unit.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Availability: Twenty-four (24) hour responsibility, on-call and call-back may be required.
Certifications: Must maintain necessary certifications and complete on-going educational units/certifications required for assigned areas of responsibility.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates must possess all of the following:

License:
Must possess and maintain Registered Nurse licensure with the State of California Board of Registered Nursing.

Experience:  Three (3) years of experience as a licensed Registered Nurse.  One (1) year must have been in a hospital based, acute care, inpatient psychiatric program AND one (1) year of experience as a full-scope supervisor. Experience may be concurrent.

Education:  A Bachelor's of Science in Nursing, Business or Healthcare Administration or other closely related field.

Certification: Must possess and maintain current Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and a Management of Assaultive Behavior certification.

**An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered at the discretion of Human Resources.

Desired Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of experience as a registered nurse in a hospital based, acute care, inpatient psychiatric unit with the ability to understand the requirements of and perform duties within  this regulatory environment; such experience in a teaching hospital is preferred as well as Master's degree in nursing, business, healthcare administration or other relevant field is desired.
