HR Specialist

This class is responsible for providing professional level service to employees related to a specialty area in Human Resources which may include job duties associated with Workers' Compensation, Retirement Plan Administration and/or Benefits Administration (medical, dental, vision, disability). 

The salary/grade for this position is $45,851/C411.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Human Resources, Business/Public Administration or related field;
  • Four years of progressively responsible experience in one or more of the stated specialty areas: health plan administration, ancillary benefits plan administration, retirement plan administration, Worker's Compensation plan administration
  • Valid Driver's Licenses from state of residency. 

HR Associate III

This is a broad, experienced, professional level class responsible for performing analytical and programmatic activities in support of a county wide Human Resources function.  Incumbents perform job duties associated with Workers' Compensation, Retirement Plan Administration, and Benefits Administration (medical, dental, vision, disability). 

The salary/grade for this position is $49,862/C421.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business/Public Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a closely related field;
  • Three years of specialized  HR experience (health plan administration, ancillary benefits plan administration, retirement plan administration, or Worker's Compensation plan administration) and/or one year of generalist level benefits administration experience (a combination of experience in benefits administration's specialized areas);
  • Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
  • PHR Certification is preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License from state of residency.
