Qualifications

Candidates must have a minimum of a master's degree in Student Affairs, Counseling, Leadership Development, or a related field. Candidates must have prior professional experience in Enrollment Management at a four-year college or university and a minimum of 10 years professional experience in higher education. Candidates with proven ability to exceed enrollment goals in higher education are desired. Experience in recruiting, retention, admissions, financial aid and scholarships is required. Candidates should have a genuine desire to work with students from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Candidates should have an ability to analyze data and establish innovative marketing strategies. Successful candidates will have a proven ability to collaborate on campus and with key stakeholders.

Job Concepts

The Director of Enrollment Management supervises the Offices of Recruiting, Admissions and Financial Aid which includes Scholarships. The Director of Enrollment Management also supervises clerical staff, student workers and graduate students. The Director of Enrollment Management reports directly to the VP of the Student Experience.

The primary role of the Director of Enrollment Management is to coordinate the above areas to recruit and retain students to Northwestern State University. Recruitment of high quality students from diverse backgrounds is a major objective. Also, the Director of Enrollment Management will engage and work with Academic and Student Affairs to increase retention and find new methods of recruitment. In addition to engaging academic areas in Natchitoches, Shreveport, Leesville, CenLA and other NSU facilities, the Director of Enrollment Management works with the Director of EEC and the Directors of International Student Programs to find ways to recruit and retain online and international students. The Director of Enrollment Management engages deans, department chairs, and other University leaders in establishing ambitious enrollment goals. The Director of Enrollment Management engages all campus leaders to determine causes of student attrition and to develop programs and activities to improve retention of identified students.
