Los Angeles Superior Court is the largest unified trial court in the United States with nearly 600 courtrooms presided over by 550 bench officers and 4,500 full-time employees. The Court has 40 Court locations, serving 88 cities and 118 law enforcement agencies countywide.

The Auditing Supervisor supervises the activities of professional auditors involved in conducting routine and complex audits and investigations that require advanced, specialized professional accounting and auditing skills. The role is responsible for ensuring that weaknesses or errors are identified and recommendations are made to Court management for improvement of operation efficiency, strengthening internal controls and safeguarding the Court's assets.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS:
 
To qualify, you must meet one of the following options at time of filing:

OPTION I: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with 21 semester or 32 quarter units of accounting course, including a course in auditing –AND- three (3) years of auditing experience at the level of an Auditor*, with two (2) years leading and/or supervising audits.***

*Experience at the level of Los Angeles Superior Court Auditor is defined as performing work in a comparable class with the same level of responsibility and requiring the same knowledge, skills and abilities. For a detailed job description click here.


OPTION II: One (1) year of auditing experience at the level of a Senior Auditor** working for Los Angeles Superior Court or County of Los Angeles.

**Experience at the level of Los Angeles Superior Court Senior Auditor is defined as performing work in a comparable class with the same level of responsibility and requiring the same knowledge, skills and abilities. For a detailed job description click here.


Note:  Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.
 

No out-of-class experience will be accepted.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will possess the following desirable qualifications:
  • Experience scoping, planning, and executing performance and/or financial audits for complex organizations, including leading and supervising the work of subordinate professional auditing staff
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) or Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS)
  • Project management experience
  • Experience investigating fraud complaints
  • Experience delivering training courses in audit/accounting topics or fraud awareness.
  • Exceptional oral and written communications skills

Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:
A valid California Class C driver's license or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
