Job Responsibilities

 

  • Under general supervision, provides mental health assessments and therapeutic services, including crisis management and intervention.
  • Performs mental health assessments / evaluations on assigned clients.
  • Conducts individual and group counseling.
  • Attends meetings and consults with treatment team to resolve problems.
  • Provides direct feedback on mental health issues to institutional staff.
  • Assists in discharge planning.
  • Provides advisory and consultative service as related to mental health services, assist supervisor in the development / administration of special projects;
  •  Assists other institutions as needed.
  • Participates in on-call pool to provide after hour and on-site weekend and holiday coverage to the institutions as assigned.
  • This position is at Broad River's Crisis Stabilization Unit.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State of South Carolina minimum requirements:
A bachelor's degree and professional experience in Human Services or Social Services programs.
(or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources)


SCDC minimum requirements:
A master's degree in Clinical Social Work or related Mental Health field and two (2) years of experience in a Mental Health/Social Services setting.
Must be licensed as a LPC, LPC-S, LISW, or LMFT.
