Purpose of Position:
This position will draw, process and package specimens for delivery to outside labs. Performs Complete Blood Count (CBC), Urine Analysis (UA's) and protimes in-house. This position will also receive, file and distribute results to ordering physicians, using established protocols. Additionally, this position will maintain lab quality assurance, cleanliness and processes as required for licensure and ensure current licensure and display of licensure.
 
This position is a Pay Band 55.

Medical & Clinical Laboratory Technologist Operational

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree in Chemistry or Biology and one (1) year laboratory experience in a hospital setting. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling three (3) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements:
Employment is subject to a criminal background check pursuant to New Mexico Caregivers Criminal Screening Act (Sections 29-17-2 through 29-17-5 NMSA 1978 and 7.1.9.1 through 7.1.9.11 NMAC) and is conditional pending results.

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a laboratory setting, long periods of standing, bending, walking must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, may be required to work weekends, evenings, nights and/or holidays.
