Essential Functions

Provides technical and training support to Revenue Cycle staff, administrative staff, technical staff, physicians, and nurses to ensure specific Revenue Cycle department implementations (registration, insurance, and patient scheduling) function properly and in accordance with enterprise-wide solutions; manages hospital-wide Revenue Cycle project life cycles in accordance with enterprise level Information Services strategic planning; validates and implements Revenue Cycle initiatives (registration, insurance, and patient scheduling), which support the successful adoption of computer applications into the organization's operations, appropriate to the level and needs of the audience; recommends operational procedures to ensure the function of Revenue Cycle implementations; establishes and maintains working relationships with representatives of USA computer services, hospital information services, clinical information services, vendors, and other technical support groups; functions as a liaison between Revenue Cycle application services and administration, department leaders, information services staff, and vendors; collaborates with Revenue Cycle departments to utilize Access Management initiatives and Revenue Cycle Applications to improve operations and department workflow; identifies and troubleshoots problem areas related to Access Management initiatives and Revenue Cycle Applications in consultation with service leaders, technical staff, physicians, and nurses; prepares resource allocation analysis for proposed Revenue Cycle projects; prepares and presents written and oral presentations to organizational leadership related to Revenue Cycle; participates in development, interpretation, and education of Revenue Cycle policies and procedures; communicates with administrative and departmental staff, technical staff, physicians, nurses and vendors in person and via the telephone; uses appropriate customer relation skills; documents day-to-day activities, information services knowledge base materials and procedures; develops and updates user documentation; abides by and enforces all compliance requirements and policies and performs these responsibilities in an ethical manner consistent with the organization's values; adheres to departmental and hospital policies, including confidentiality; communicates and uses appropriate customer relation skills with physicians, patients, families, and other hospital staff in person and via e-mail and telephone; accepts and completes all duties positively and without conflict; cooperates, helps others, and improves the performance of the department; utilizes cost effective practices in performing all aspects of the job; responds to overhead pages and digital pagers; assists with the orientation of new employees; completes all mandatory educational and hospital requirements and participates in improvement activities as needed; adheres to current Infection Control and Safety standards; utilizes proper body mechanics when moving equipment and/or supplies that are necessary to perform essential functions; requires minimal supervision to safely perform essential functions; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required; related duties as required. 

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and two years of experience implementing and/or maintaining computer systems in a healthcare setting. 

Working Days and Hours

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
