Description

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provides development and direct supervision of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programming in the district. 

 

Responsibilities

-Services may include: functional behavioral assessment, behavior plan development, development of IEP goals & objectives, development of individualized skill building curricula, staff and parent training, and consultation to all team members.  The BCBA will provide these services in the school setting and also oversee/ provide supervision for behavior technicians providing home ABA services as indicated on IEPs. The BCBA may be required to work a flexible schedule (10am – 6pm) one or two days a week to allow for service delivery supervision of the behavior technicians in the home setting.
 

-Provide direct instruction, training and support to students with autism and family members to insure the successful inclusion of K-12 students in a public school setting.
 

-Effectively manage caseload and prepare all documentation in a timely fashion; participate in related IEP meetings.
 

-Conduct functional behavior assessments and recommend positive behavior supports for students with Autism Spectrum and other related disorders.
 

-Provide support for staff in the use of ABA strategies.

Qualifications

-Certification as a BCBA

-Master degree preferred

-Solid knowledge of the principles and practice of Applied Behavior Analysis.

-Prior experience in the evaluation and treatment of children with serious behavioral problems and spectrum disorder required.    

-Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks/goals for self and others.

-Ability to handle multitude of varying and complex issues

-Effective written and verbal communication skills with individuals and groups at all professional levels.

-Experience consulting with teachers and staff to support students' behavior in the classroom.

-Experience within a public school setting strongly preferred.

- Competency working in a culturally diverse environment or the willingness to acquire these skills.
