The Community Risk Reduction Lieutenant position is within the Community Risk Reduction Division. The Lieutenant manages programs related to community risk reduction and community business inspection partnerships in accordance with policies, procedures and guidelines of the department. In addition, the Lieutenant reviews documents and reports and observes field work for quality assurance. Personnel in this position will investigate grant opportunities; assist with proposal development and program compliance with grant specifications as well as develop performance measures and evaluation methods for community risk reduction services, assists with budget preparation, and assesses equipment and personnel needs.

The Community Risk Reduction Division is charged with fire inspections, investigations, and all code-related topics within the business community of the county.
 
This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Gwinnett County Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma, or G.E.D.;
  • Two years of fire inspection, firefighting, emergency medical services, education, or related experience.
Licensing Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's License from state of residency;
  • CPR Certificate;
  • SBCCI or ICC or NPQ Fire Inspector I or equivalent;
  • Management Development Program or equivalent; 
  • Georgia Fire Inspector Certificate;
  • Public Fire and Life Safety Educator I.
