SAINT PAUL COLLEGE seeks energetic and dedicated individuals to apply for one unlimited, full-time (1.0) Machine Tool Technology faculty position. This position requires a skilled individual with extensive experience in Machining, Manufacturing, Engineering Drawings, Material Process, CNC, CAM, Tool Design, EDM, Pro-E and Solid Works.

Instructor is responsible for:
 

  • Provide classroom instruction, evaluate and advise students;
  • Develop and/or revise curriculum;
  • Participate in department meetings, program advisory committee meetings, and college-wide events;
  • Maintain technical knowledge in the field through active participation in professional development organizations and events;
  • Promote diversity and cultural competency;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean or Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
 

  • Education Requirement -. Diploma in Machine Tool Technology;
  • Occupational Experience Requirement-Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in machine setup, programming, troubleshooting and operation of both manual and CNC equipment;
  • Recency Requirement-One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years;        
  • Teaching and Learning Competency Requirement: course construction (credit course)*; teaching/instructional methods (credit course)*; student outcomes assessment/evaluation (credit course)*; philosophy of community and technical college education (credit or non-credit course)**
  • Faculty shall have a degree in education or three years of successful full-time (or equivalent) teaching experience prior to being hired, or shall be required to complete coursework in the above content areas (or their equivalent) prior to being granted unlimited status.
* These courses shall be waived for individuals who at the time of hire have: a degree in education, or have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework in the specified teaching and learning content areas, or have three years of successful, full-time (or equivalent) secondary, postsecondary, industry, or trade apprenticeship teaching experience in the field for which they are being hired. (Procedure 3.32.1 College Faculty Credentialing, Part 5, Subpart B.2)
** This course shall be waived for individuals who, at the time of hire, have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework. (Procedure 3.32.1 College Faculty Credentialing, Part 5, Subpart B.3)
 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • AAS Degree in machine tool technology/machinist;
  • Bachelor's degree;
  • Five years or more experience in machining and machine tool technology;
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills;
  • Evidence of experience working with persons/groups of diverse cultures and backgrounds;
  • Knowledge of multi-cultural, gender- and disability-fair curriculum development;
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint);
  • Knowledge of and experience in one or more of the following:  Machining, Manufacturing, Engineering Drawings, Material Process, CNC, CAM, Tool Design, EDM, Pro-E and Solid Works;
  • Teaching and/or training experience.

Salary and benefits will be based on the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) and the State of Minnesota.  Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.  Salary range $35,984-$79,218.  Salary and benefits will be provided according to the negotiated labor agreement.  Applicants selected for interview will be requested to provide a statement of their philosophy of equity and inclusion.

Under the collective bargaining agreement with the Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF), new instructors to MSCF receive a salary placement based on education and related experience after a job offer is accepted.  The maximum salary at hire is $57,819 per academic year, depending on education and experience.
