General Statement of Job

Under general supervision, performs a variety of tasks in support of the Utilities/Public Works Department. Work involves monitoring the recycling and disposal of residential waste, along with maintenance of buildings. Employee is also responsible for ensuring that users comply with the rules and regulations of the facility set forth by the Manager, Collection and Hauling.

Special Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Monitors the disposal of residential waste.

Stacks newspaper bundles.

Separates colored glass into proper bins.

Removes snow and ice from yards and buildings; sweeps yards and rakes, blows and removes leaves.

Picks up and disposes of litter around the buildings.

Communicates with public in person or via telephone.

Completes time sheets and relays information to Public Work Department.

Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Training & Experience

Some experience performing custodial related work or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
