Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Data Integration, this position oversees ad hoc, short and medium term projects in the areas of program evaluation and the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).
 
The Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution and completion of various projects critical to the ongoing operations and continued development of the Data Integration Division. To be successful in this position, candidates will bring strong analytic, project management experience, meticulous organization and attention to detail, and a desire to seek out and create effective solutions to challenges that are often ambiguous and nuanced. Preferred candidates will be entrepreneurial, self-starters who bring creativity and curiosity to the problem solving process. Candidates with a passion for addressing and ending homelessness are strongly preferred.
 

Essential Job Functions

  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects that will typically range from 1-6 months in duration, some or all of which may be high visibility within and outside of the organization
  • Create and maintain clear project management tools and protocols
  • Define project scope and timeline in collaboration with project stakeholders
  • Maintain updated project plans for all current assignments
  • Collaborate with organizational leadership to build buy-in and commitment of resources for current initiatives
  • Consistently and comprehensively communicate with project stakeholders to ensure shared understanding of critical dates and deliverables
  • Actively manage and clearly communicate expectations of deliverables and timeline
  • Proactively manage and escalate risks throughout the project lifecycle
  • Maintain process and documentation for request, tracking, and approving changes to project scope, deliverables and/or timeline
  • Facilitate meetings or working groups of project participants as needed
     

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent project management fundamentals, with a track record of successfully executing high-visibility projects on time and on budget
  • Meticulous organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with project management software tools
  • Experience customizing "off the shelf" software to enhance user experience and align with business needs
  • Excellent people skills, specifically a capacity for collaboration and interpersonal relationships; facilitation experience preferred
  • Ability to perform and lead in a team-based project management environment
  • Expert problem solving, prioritization, and decision-making capabilities
  • Skilled juggler, with the ability to meet manage and meet multiple competing deadlines
  • Clear and effective communicator both orally and in writing; presentation experience preferred
  • Experience with HMIS preferred
  • Knowledge of systems and programs that address and prevent homelessness
  • Intermediate and advanced level of ability with software programs specifically, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook), Microsoft SQL Server

Training & Experience

Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field; advanced degree preferred.  An equivalent combination of applicable training and experience may be substituted for education requirement. Minimum of five years' experience with database/information systems, preferably in a field with a human services focus.  Project management experience is strongly preferred.

AFLAC Supplemental Insurance
LAHSA offers this voluntary supplemental insurance to all full-time employees.  Plan options include personal accident, personal cancer indemnity, personal short-term disability, and personal life insurance plans.  Most premiums are pre-taxed and paid 100% by the employee through automatic bi-monthly payroll deductions.
 
ADP Flexible Spending Accounts
LAHSA offers employees this voluntary flexible spending account plan through ADP TotalSource.  Employees may elect to participate in dependent care or health care expense accounts.  All premiums are pre-taxed and paid 100% by the employee through automatic bimonthly payroll deductions.
 
LegalShield Legal Benefits
LAHSA offers this voluntary legal benefit which provides access to quality law firms.  Other benefits include personal, business and pre-existing conditions medical advice, 24/7 emergency assistance, letter and phone calls on your behalf, legal document review and standard will preparation.  All premiums are paid 100% by the employee through direct payment.
 
VPI Pet Insurance
LAHSA employees may purchase pet insurance through VPI.  This insurance provides a financial safety net for unexpected veterinary expenses.  All premiums are paid 100% by the employee through direct payment.
 
Life Insurance
LAHSA pays 100% of premium for $50,000 basic life insurance and AD&D coverage through ADP TotalSource. 
 
Voluntary Life Insurance
Employee may purchase additional life insurance through Lincoln Financial Group for themselves, a spouse, and/or dependent children. Employee benefit may be elected in increments of $ 10,000 not to exceed 5 times your annual salary or $500,000 whichever is less. Guarantee Issue amount: $100,000.
 
Long Term Disability
LAHSA pays 100% of premium for long term disability coverage through ADP TotalSource.
 
State Disability/Unemployment Insurance
LAHSA participates in both state insurance programs.
 
Pension Plan
LAHSA provides a 401A pension plan through Lincoln Financial Advisors Corp.  After 6 months of employment, employees are eligible for contributions of 5% of employees' salaries with a qualification date of 500 hours or 6 months after date of hire.
*Vesting schedule: 3 years = 100%, 2 years = 66%, 1 year = 33%
 
Deferred Compensation Plan
LAHSA provides an optional 457 Deferred Compensation Plan through Lincoln Financial Advisors Corp.  Employees may elect to defer up to $18,000 per year of their earned salary for income tax purposes.  Deferred earnings are not taxable until the time of withdrawal from the plan and/or retirement.
 
Vacation
Full-time employees accrue vacation leave at a rate of 2 weeks (10 days) per year, with an additional week (5 days) increase after 5 years of employment.  Maximum accrual for vacation leave is 200 hours.
Sick Leave
Full-time employees accrue sick leave at a rate of 12 days per year.  Maximum accrual for sick leave is 160 hours.
 
Personal Sick Leave
Full-time employees may use up to forty hours (5 days) of sick leave per calendar year for personal use. Personal sick leave can only be taken if the employee maintains a minimum of twenty-four hours of sick leave.
 
Paid Holidays
Full-time employees receive 12 paid holidays and 1 "floating" holiday per calendar year.
 
Parking
Employee parking is paid by LAHSA in an established nearby garage. Employees may elect to take public transportation which is also covered up to the amount of the company parking lot.
