Description

The Information Technology Division (ITD) of the State Court Administrator's Office (SCAO) is seeking a mid-level technical developer to perform moderate to complex assignments that support the business needs of the MN Judicial Branch through information technology projects.
 
The work involves applying knowledge to IT assignments in the areas of data warehousing, business intelligence, and database development to maintain and enhance systems used by the MN State Courts and related agencies. The selected candidate will be expected to produce a wide spectrum of complicated solutions including, but not limited to operational SSRS reports, dashboards and scorecards, analytic applications, ETL deployments, data extracts, dimensional data marts, and SQL development in support of enterprise data initiatives.
 

Example of Duties

  • Design, develop, test, and document code that performs the functions specified in the business design by using SQL Server, Visual Studio, .NET and SQL Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Design, develop, and maintain SSRS reports and data extracts
  • Design, develop, and maintain dimensional data marts that are accurate, technically effective, secure, and user friendly.
  • Design, develop, and maintain PowerBI dashboards, scorecards, and analytic applications.
  • Create SSIS packages to extract, load, and transform data from disparate source systems.
  • Create queries and reports, diagnose problems, research source code, devise software and SQL solutions, and suggest and implement modification to improve existing queries and reports.
  • Responsible for the administration of various reporting environments including installation, tuning, troubleshooting, support, and maintenance.
  • Participate in reviews and quality assurance processes to ensure that work adheres to appropriate architectures and standards.

Typical Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related field; or equivalent information technology and computer programming training that includes certification from an accredited technical school of programming.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in database, data warehouse, or business intelligence development.
  • 3+ years of experience with the Microsoft BI stack:
    • Excel
    • SSRS
    • Power BI
  • Strong SQL development skills.
  • Solid proficiency with MS SQL Server.
  • ETL development experience utilizing  SSIS
  • OLAP database development (tabular or multi-dimensional) utilizing SSAS
  • Past experience with dimensional modeling
  • Knowledge of Visual Studio and .NET development tools.
  • Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, technical concepts to both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Ability to work well in a team-based environment to resolve design and implementation issues.
  • Self-motivated performer with a strong interest in supporting the Minnesota Judicial Branch Mission and Vision.
  • Successful applicant will be subject to a criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Team Foundation  Server
  • MDX and DAX query languages
  • Past experience with metadata management in enterprise DW/BI environment
  • Working knowledge of data analysis tools such as R, Python, SPSS
  • Web Development - HTML, Javascript, CSS
  • Familiarity with the Kimball Data Warehouse/BI Lifecycle
  • Knowledge of court business procedures and policies including specific court functions and processes sufficient to understand and identify user needs, potential resources, and complexities.

Supplemental Information

SALARY RANGE & BENEFITS: $29.11 – $45.09 per hour ($60,782 - $94,148 annually) Starting salary depends upon background experience and qualifications.
