OCSD is currently looking to fill the role of a Senior Information Technology Analyst or an Information Technology Analyst III to function as the Maximo System Administrator.

Under general direction, provides moderate to highly complex support to departments and programs including the analysis, evaluation, design, development, and testing of software and hardware programs. This person will assist in the administration and technical responsibility for OCSD's Enterprise Asset Management program and provides services in architectural design, integration, implementation, back-end administration, and troubleshooting. Integrates enterprise solutions for the maintenance management program, civil asset management program, corrosion program, asset assessment programs, and Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Designs optimum system configurations, develops and implements testing plans, ensures system quality assurance, evaluates whether new programs meet users' business needs and technology requirements and makes adjustments as necessary. Organizes and prioritizes a variety of Information Technology projects in an effective and timely manner.
 

Qualifications & Requirements

This position requires a bachelor's degree from a college or university which is accredited by the US Department of Education, with major coursework in computer science, information systems and a related field. In addition:
 
 

  • The Senior Information Technology Analyst requires six (6) years of increasingly responsible information systems or network programming and analysis experience, including two (2) years of experience at a level comparable to an Information Technology Analyst III at OCSD.  The preferred candidate will have advanced-level experience with: SQL Server Administrator, SQL scripting, report development, Project Management, Asset Life Cycle Management, principles and practices of planned maintenance and a thorough understanding of Maximo asset management software including Maximo Integration Framework, Application development and modifications, and Security Administration. Information technology industry recognized certifications, Maximo certifications, and prior experience working in water/wastewater or for a local government utility or municipality is a plus.
 
 
  • The Information Technology Analyst III requires four (4) years of increasingly responsible information systems or network programming and analysis experience, including two (2) years of experience at a level comparable to an Information Technology Analyst II at OCSD.  The preferred candidate will have experience with: SQL Server, report development, SQL scripting, Asset Life Cycle Management, general knowledge of the principles and practices of planned maintenance and a general understanding of Maximo asset management software
 
Positions in both classifications require a valid California Class C driver's license by time of appointment.

Hiring Salary Range(s):

  • Senior Information Technology Analyst: $105,622 - $116,417/year
  • Information Technology Analyst III: $95,742 – 105,560/year
(starting salary will be within these ranges based upon qualifications)
 

Supplemental Information

Physical Demands
Must possess mobility to work in and around District facilities; ability to travel to various District sites, projects and/or meetings; strength, stamina, and mobility to perform moderate to heavy physical work, to work in confined spaces and around machines, to climb and descend ladders; to operate varied hand and power tools and equipment; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; color vision to discerns electrical wires and gauges; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone or radio.  The job involves fieldwork requiring frequent walking in operational areas to identify problems or hazards.  Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate above-mentioned tools and equipment.  Positions in this classification bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb to perform work and inspect work sites.  Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push and pull materials and objects weighing up to 40 pounds, or heavier weights with the use of proper equipment.
 
Environmental Elements
Employees work in and around facilities and are exposed to loud noise levels, cold and hot temperatures, inclement weather conditions, road hazards, vibration, confining workspace, chemicals, mechanical and/or electrical hazards, and hazardous physical substances and fumes.  Employees may interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives, and contractors in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.
   
Disaster Service Workers
All Orange County Sanitation District employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state law (California Government Code Section 3100-3109). Employment with the Orange County Sanitation District requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
