Job Responsibilities

Provides leadership, management, planning and coordination of instruction for students in teaching college courses in Spanish, participate in curriculum and instructional material development, assessment functions to include program learning outcomes & student learning outcomes, student advisement responsibilities, enrollment & registration, student recruitment & retention activities, participate in college outreach activities, college committees, and community service. Participate in departmental, division, & college planning sessions in actively reaching & communicating the college's mission & goals, & professional development activities.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Faculty teaching associate degree courses designed for transfer to a baccalaureate degree: requires a doctor's or master's degree in Spanish or master's degree with a concentration in Spanish (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Spanish).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in teaching college level Spanish is preferred.

Additional Comments

Requires flexible schedule, day and/or evening classroom assignments on the main campus and/or at the county centers. May require teaching using Distance Learning Techniques, electronic teaching modalities, and the Internet. Will be required to attend instructional training. May require travel, possibly overnight, to attend meetings/training, workshops or conferences. Some lifting is required.
