Position Summary

Brookland Golf Park is seeking Shop Attendants to operate the Golf Shops in a positive manner while ensuring guests and members alike are given prompt, courteous service at the sales counter, over the phone, and on the sales floor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meet and greet customers and members in a positive and courteous manner
  • Provide excellent service while processing fees, selling merchandise, while on the phone, or when making reservations for tee times
  • Learn and use names of members and frequent golfing non-members
  • Learn about the inventory in the shop and be able to present it to customers
  • Clean and vacuum the golf shop in order to present the shop In a clean and professional manner
  • Refold clothing and straighten merchandise on a continual basis
  • Communicate with Golf Manager on a daily basis

Minimum and Desired Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a high school graduate or the equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Ability to provide a level of customer service that meets or exceeds customer and employer expectations
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a courteous and professional manner
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to use computer

Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience with touch screen point of sales systems
  • Previous retail sales experience
  • Previous experience working in golf course operations
  • Possess CPR, First Aid, or AED certifications

Department/Division: Recreation & Parks Department/Edinburgh USA Golf Course

Anticipated Work Schedule at Brookland Golf Park Pro Shop:  Positions are part-time, non-benefited positions that will work one (1) to forty (40) hours per Two shifts daily from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sundays. Hours will vary with the time of year.

Anticipated Salary: $9.65-11.87 Hourly

Pay Class: Recreation Leader        Pay Grade: (630)
 

Regular, full-time City of Brooklyn Park employees (30 or more hours per week) are eligible for a benefits package including:
