Summary of Job Duties

The City of Aurora Golf Division is looking for motivated individuals to performs manual and skilled labor activities related to maintaining a city owned golf course. This job posting will serve to create a pool of applicants for all temporary positions for the 2018 season.
 
This position is a temporary position and not benefit eligible at this time.
Starting Pay is $10.20-$12.00 depending on experience
Must be at least 16 year of age on hire.
**Employees must be able to work varied hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.**

The City of Aurora will conduct ongoing screenings of applications throughout the year; as soon as we determine to have a qualified pool of applicants, this position may close quickly and without notice.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs tasks related to maintaining of a city owned golf course including trash removal, mowing, string trimming, bunker raking, greens rolling, other small and medium equipment operation.
  • Assist with small construction/maintenance projects, hose watering, and irrigation maintenance.
  • Employees perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Experience: Previous golf course maintenance experience (preferred)

Knowledge: Knowledge of basic manual work skills. Knowledge of the game of golf required for safety reasons and customer service.

Abilities: Ability to follow instructions and maintain a safe environment at work site.

Skills: Skill in operating small power equipment and riding mowers is desirable.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES REQUIRED:

  • Valid Colorado driver's license is required at the discretion of the Supervisor.


This position may require the incumbent to occasionally use personal equipment (e.g. vehicle, cell phone, etc.) in the course of their employment.

Working Conditions

Physical Demands: Moderate physical work requiring ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds; frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds; regular walking and standing; regular climbing, bending, kneeling and crouching; hand/foot/eye coordination to perform appropriate duties; vision to read instructions; hearing and speech communication for communication with employees and citizens.

Work Environment: Works outdoors in varying weather conditions with exposure to dust, noise, chemicals, water, sun, blowing sand and other conditions found in an outdoor environment.

Equipment Used: May operate riding mowers, city vehicles, power tools related to maintenance operations.
