Job Description

Purpose of Position:
Why does the job exist?
The purpose of this position is to help open and prepare personal income tax (PIT) return mail for scanning during the heavy tax season and to train other temps in opening and preparing PIT returns. This position researches and prepares prior year and amended return batches for scanning.

How does it get done?
Position opens and sorts the PIT mail received and prepares the returns for scanning.

Who are the customers?
New Mexico tax payers 

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has experience in sorting mail and scanning.

Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within one week from date advertisement began.

This is a pay band 30.

Eighth grade education.

Employment Requirements:
Must be current with all tax reporting/payments. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results. Employment is subject to post offer pre-employment criminal background check to include fingerprint checks and is conditional pending results.

Working Conditions:
Office setting; exposure to VDT; extensive personal computer and phone usage. Extended periods of sitting and some lifting. Good communication skills; Interacting with the public required. High pressure/stress situations.
