Class Summary

The Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources is a publicly-owned utility, committed to providing excellent water, wastewater and stormwater services at the best possible value to the citizens of Gwinnett County.  The department is widely recognized for service excellence in the operation of 2 water production facilities, 3 water reclamation facilities and 226 pump stations.  In addition, DWR maintains 3,667 miles of water lines, 2,654 miles of sewer lines and 1,325 miles of stormwater pipe.  The Department of Water Resources takes pride in stewardship of the environmental resources entrusted to us and pledge to be responsible as we manage water as a limited, but renewable, resource.

This class is responsible for complex engineering design work. Incumbent will supervise engineers, technicians, and consultants.  This position will oversee activities such as design and development of special projects. Incumbents will also provide daily support to SCADA / Process Automation Systems and will be directly responsible for all engineering, system upgrades and training related to SCADA systems within DWR facilities.

This position is a Grade 107.    
 
Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's License from state of residency;
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering;
  • Six years of progressively responsible engineering experience, some of which should be in a supervisory capacity.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Four or more years engineering experience in design, development and support of a large industrial system;
  • SCADA experience in design, development, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Wonderware system platform 2014 and related applications. (Wonderware certification is highly desired)
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC programing – RS logix 500, RS Logix 5000 – Ladder Logic, Function Blocks and Structured Text
  • Experience with Dynac and Foxboro SCADA platforms
  • Experience with network administration, TCP/IP, Modbus, Device net, etc;
  • MCSE and / or CCNA
  • Experience with creation of control system wiring schematic and logic diagrams using AutoCAD
  • Experience with industrial instrumentation, loops and control system fabrication
  • Experience with SQL language and scripting
  • Experience with implementation of cyber security
