Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) has a unique opportunity for an ERP Financials Consultant for its Business Enhancement/System Transformation (BEST) project.

LACOE is initiating an exciting multi-year project to transform its current systems into an Enterprise Resource Planning system that integrates financial, payroll, and human resources management systems. This project will improve the operational efficiencies of the over 125 educational agencies served by LACOE, which include school districts, community colleges, and charter schools. The ERP Financials Consultant is the functional expert in financial business practices, responsible for developing system requirements, administering system tests, and acting as a liaison with subject matter experts at districts. 

The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following

Knowledge:
  • Financial business processes and functions (e.g. budget development, procurement, purchasing/contracts, accounts payable, general ledger/accounting, inventory, billing/accounts receivable, and asset management) 
  • Principles and practices of enterprise business system functionality, ERP implementation, analysis and design
  • Methodology of business process modeling and business process improvement
  • Principles, practices, regulations, and reporting requirements of California public education financial functions
  • Computer-based data management, systems analysis, and project management
  • Principles and functions of Business Intelligence
  • Understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL) and Relational Database Concepts
  • Business Objects or Data Warehouse Reporting Solutions

Required Education and Experience

Education: A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, management information systems (MIS), computer science or other field closely related to the knowledge and ability requirements of the classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Experience: Four years of experience in accounting or finance in the areas of purchasing/contracts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset management, inventory, general ledger/accounting, billing, or budget development including one year of experience implementing an ERP System as a system vendor or a functional lead in a client agency.

Additional Requirements: Experience implementing ERP financial systems in a California public sector (e.g. school district, community college, university, office of education, city, county, state) in an accounting or financial unit and experience with CGI Advantage 3.x are preferred. A valid California driver's license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites is required.

Selection Process
Candidates who meet the minimum requirements above, will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of Training and Experience Evaluation (T&E) and Technical Interview.
