Job Responsibilities

The Upward Bound Program Director plans, directs, monitors and evaluates activities and programs designed to assist low income and/or potential first generation college students in completing high school and entering into post-secondary education in accordance with all the U.S. Department of Education, project grant award guidelines and applicable regulations. Oversees and manages the administration and operations of the Upward Bound Program including, but not limited to: monitoring, analyzing, evaluating, and auditing programmatic and fiscal operations compliance.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A Master's degree; or Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience in student services programs.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in guidance and counseling, student personnel, student services, education or other related fields.  A minimum of three (3) years of related work experience with TRIO programs and at least two (2) years of supervisory experience.  Candidates with previous TRIO experience are preferred.

Additional Comments

Excellent interpersonal, organization, communication, and leadership skills are required.  Knowledge of computerized database information software, admissions and financial aid process, and careers and job and labor market needs is desired.  Knowledge and experience working with economically, and educationally disadvantaged youth are required.
