About the Position

The City of Las Vegas is currently accepting applications for the position of Front Desk/Cashier. This is an Hourly position. 

The purpose of this recruitment is to establish an eligible list for future openings. 

May include assignments in, but not limited to:  Recreation Centers, Senior Centers, Sports Office, Cultural Centers, Park Entry Booths, Adaptive Recreation Centers, Active Adult Centers, Sports Centers/Complexes, Seasonal Camps, Aquatics Centers/Pools

Supervision Received
Receives general supervision from higher level supervisory or management staff.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

DUTIES MAY VARY BASED ON THE ASSIGNED DEPARTMENT

Answers phones; interacts and answers questions of customers at the front desk; registers customers for programs and services using registration software; may take payments and prepare deposits; keeps front desk area clean and professional; hands out promotional materials to customers at the front desk; refers all disgruntled or upset customers immediately to full-time classified staff; communicates front desk supply needs to full-time or part-time classified staff; views facility for safety concerns and communicates them to full-time classified staff, prints Activity Role Sheet; when assigned to Floyd Lamb Park may make nightly bank deposits.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 16 years of age.
  • Formal and informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
  • Basic computer skills is required.
  • Cash handling experience desirable.
  • Bilingual skills are desirable.
