Job Responsibilities

The Department of Mental Health is a drug-free workplace. All candidates will be required to pass a mandatory pre-employment drug test.

 This position is located within the Forensics Department of the South Carolina Department of Mental Health's Division of Inpatient Services.

Under general supervision, the Social Work Supervisor performs diversified social work duties for a complex caseload consisting of patients with multiple psycho-social problems including criminal charges.  These intensive duties include completing assessments, group and individual treatment, discharge planning and related duties.  Services are provided to an inpatient population, eighteen (18) years of age and older. The supervisor serves in a leadership role.

Two (2) Positions available

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State Requirement: A bachelor's degree in a social work or social welfare program accredited by the Council on accredited institution, plus experience as a professional social worker. Licensure by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners.

 
Agency Requirement: A master's degree from a social work program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Licensed by the SC Board of Social Work Examiners at the LMSW or LISW level.

Note: If any Agency Requirements are listed above, applicants must also meet those requirements to be considered for the position. Salary may vary depending on experience and qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Agency Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year of practice experience at the Master's Level.
