Basic Function

The Pool Cashier is responsible for accepting admission fees, concession fees and providing concession items to patrons at the pool facility. Responsible for maintaining accurate daily records that reflect revenue, food temperatures, product counts etc. The Pool Cashier's focus is on customer service and assists in all aspects of providing excellent service at all times. 


 

Nature & Scope

1.            Accept and records admission fees and concession fees accurately using a cash register or other means of revenue tracking.
2.            Greet all customers either in person or via telephone in a timely and professional manner. Make information on departmental programs available to customers upon request.
3.            Serves food for swimming pool patrons in accordance with City of Grapevine and County Health codes.
4.            Assist with maintaining the Aquatic facility and surrounding area.
5.            Assist with pool party reservations as needed.
6.            Preparation of bank deposits and departmental records and reports.
7.            Is familiar with and enforces pool entrance requirements. Keep Pool Manager notified of any customer safety concerns.
8.            Become knowledgeable of safety procedures for the swimming pool facility.
9.            Attend in-service training as required by the Department.
10.          Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of proper cash handling procedures. Must be friendly and dependable, possess the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, ability to deal effectively with the public and possess an outstanding customer service attitude. 

Must be at least 15 years of age.  Individuals hired prior to the opening of the outdoor pool season will be required to attend, obtain and maintain a Food Handler certificate.
Those individuals hired after the outdoor pools open will not be required to obtain the Food Handler certificate and will not be permitted to work in the concession area.

 

Hired to work as the need arises. Work schedule could be up to 40 hours per week, but the duration of employment shall be no more than six (6) months. No City sponsored benefits will be extended to temporary employees. However, all legally mandated benefits will be extended to temporary employees.
