OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:
The most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students, other members of the college and the public.
INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS:
Accepts responsibility for the timely preparation of student outcomes assessment efforts of the faculty in planning, collecting data, and reporting dates as they relate to course outcomes, program outcomes, general education outcomes, and developmental program outcomes.  Actively participates in setting annual division goals and objectives, completing OIR reporting forms, collecting data, analyzing data, and preparing a report using guidelines established by OIR. All adjunct faculty within the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program must be familiar with the program goals and be able to demonstrate the ability to develop and execute an organized plan of instruction and evaluation.
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for performing the duties of an adjunct faculty member including classroom instruction, student advisement and evaluation and participation in academic practices that ensure positive student outcome focused on student success. Adjunct Faculty are instructional personnel whose services are contracted on a semester/term by semester/term basis. The workload is limited to two course sections per semester/term, unless three course sections are required to meet the needs of the students and/or College. Adjunct Faculty are paid by the credit hour.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Supports the mission and goals of the college.
  • Complies with accreditation policies and procedures applicable.
  • Contributes to the development, implementation and revisions of curriculum within the scope of the philosophy and objectives of the program in area of specialization.
  • Develops and teaches specified course content.
  • Prepares, administers, grades and analyzes examinations and student performance.
  • Reviews, evaluates and requisitions textbooks and related instructional materials in accordance with the department and college procedures.
  • Maintains and reviews student evaluations and grades with students and faculty.
  • Promotes positive interpersonal relationships with all persons associated with the program.
  • Assists in guidance and advisement of students.

Minimum Qualifications

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) required. Credential(s) in abdominal and obstetrics/gynecology required. Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) preferred.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in any disciple.
  • Certified American Registry of Radiologic Technologist: Radiography
  • Certified American Registry of Radiologic Technologist: Computed Tomography
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 
  • Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience as Diagnostic Radiographer
  • Minimum of one (1) year clinical experience as Diagnostic Computed Tomography Technologist

Additional Information

SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current New Jersey Diagnostic Radiography License
  • Proof of Radiography and Computed Tomography ARRT Credentials.
  • Perform office skills including proficiencies with the Internet, Email, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to plan, strategize, and coordinate effectively.
  • Competent in communication and leadership skills.
  • Accountable, dependable, and trustworthy.
