  • Formulate and implement training programs, applying principles of learning
    • and individual differences.
      • Conduct research studies of physical work environments, organizational structures, communication systems, group interactions, morale, and motivation to assess organizational functioning.
  • Conduct presentations on research findings for clients and at research meetings.
    • Study consumers' reactions to new products and package designs, and to advertising efforts, using surveys and tests.
      • Review research literature to remain current on psychological science issues.

Job Description...

Provide evaluation of patients.  Provide testing of patients, i.e., IQ, personality assessment, etc.  Provide individual and / or psychotherapy.  Write behavior treatment plans for patients. Provides direct psychological services to acutely mentally ill adult inpatients through ward / unit assignment and provides psychological services to chronically mentally ill patients through referral

Required Education and Experience

Education
Possession of a PHD/Doctorate in psychology-Preferred
Experience

Psychologist 9
No specific type or amount is required.

Psychologist 10
One year of professional experience providing psychological treatment equivalent to a Psychologist 9.

Psychologist P11
Two years of professional experience providing psychological treatment equivalent to a Psychologist, including one year equivalent to a Psychologist 10.

Alternate Education and Experience

Preferred:
Possession of a PHD in psychology
Skill in conducting group and individual therapy
Skill in using neuropsychological assessments
Knowledge of issues & practices related to chronically ill population
Knowledge of issues & practices related to an adult psychiatric population as described in JCAHO manual

Additional Requirements and Information

Preferred:
Possession of a PHD in psychology and Full license to practice psychology in Michigan to practice psychology in Michigan.

Leave Time

Full time employees receive between 15 and 35 vacation leave days per year. Deferred Compensation

Employees may invest income in a tax-deferred retirement investment program. The state offers two optional deferred compensation plans, the 457 and 401(k). Employees decide the amount you want deducted from your paycheck.


Retirement

Employees receive a minimum 4% state contribution toward their retirement fund. If an employee elects to contribute more, the state will match that percentage (up to 3%).
