Recruitment Range $25,900.00 - $32,800.00

This is the Accounts Payable Payment Audit Accounting Technician Position (Hiring Range is $25,900 - $32,800).  The primary purpose of this job is to work in the Payment Audit Section.  Job duties include auditing and approving invoices from field personnel, researching errors on invoices entered by end users, monitoring rejected invoices to determine if additional assistance is required, contacting vendors to receiving monthly statements and resolving balances with the statements, printing and/or mailing check payments, and assisting with vendor maintenance.   This position must be able to communicate effectively as it routinely deals with both vendors and other DOT personnel across the state.

  • Experience communicating written and verbally with customers and teammates.
  • Experience using MS Excel software.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping principals.
  • Experience resolving problems of moderate complexity.
  • Experience interpreting policy and procedures.

High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Optional guidelines: *contributing: High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience in accounting work. *journey: High school diploma or equivalency and three years of experience in accounting work; or associate's degree in business administration or accounting. *advanced: bachelor's degree in business administration or accounting; or associate's degree in business administration or accounting and one year of experience.
