Job Description...

The Director of Training and Research plans, implements, and directs the training of all professional staff requiring certification as certified and/or consulting forensic examiners; provides an ongoing in-service training program for clinical staff to maintain and augment forensic expertise; coordinates and directs the fellowship program in forensic psychiatry; coordinates and directs training opportunities for psychiatry residents and medical students; and directs, plans, and implements a coordinated research program in areas relevant to forensic psychiatry.

Required Education and Experience

Education
Possession of a medical degree from an accredited school of medicine.

Experience
Three years of professional experience equivalent to a Psychiatrist in a mental health facility or clinic.

Additional Requirements and Information

Possession of a license to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine and surgery in Michigan.

 

Positions in children's psychiatric hospitals will require board certification in child and adolescent psychiatry.

Leave Time

Full time employees receive between 15 and 35 vacation leave days per year. Employees also receive 13 sick days per year, and employees receive 8 hours of leave to participate in certain school functions or community activities. Retirement

Employees receive a minimum 4% state contribution toward their retirement fund. If an employee elects to contribute more, the state will match that percentage (up to 3%).
