Position Information

Responsible for establishing and maintaining an organization-wide Cyber Security Program to ensure that BWS systems and information assets are adequately protected.  This position is responsible for identifying, evaluating and reporting on information security risks in a manner that meets compliance and regulatory requirements.  It is tasked with ensuring compliance through the implementation of recurring vulnerability and risk assessments and exercises and oversees all IT risk management activities.  Additionally, the position serves as the lead forensic investigative resource when addressing real-time and after-action security breaches to the BWS IT systems.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a bachelor's degree in computer science, public or business administration or a related field.

Work experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis. Such experience must have provided the knowledge, skills, and analytical ability normally gained from attainment of a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Three years of experience in the analysis of operating practices, methods and procedures, two of which shall have involved planning, developing and/or implementing a cyber security plan.  Applicants must also have experience supervising professionals in the performance of electronic data processing activities.

Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge of principles and practices of cyber security relative to network design, applications design, system administration (operating system, utility applications and commercial applications), current and emerging cyber security practices; and the ability to plan an efficient organizational structure, work flow procedures and processes and integrate these into an overall cyber security plan; analyze, interpret and apply pertinent laws, rules, policies and procedures specific to cyber security; coordinate and manage projects; advise others on pertinent cyber security matters; and evaluate the effectiveness of or identify the need for appropriate security measures or corrective action.

LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
Valid driver's license (Type 3) prior to appointment.
